Nestled in the heart of the historic Old Town Plaza and museum district, the Hotel Albuquerque is a landmark hotel in Old Town and Museum District where guests can explore more than 400 years of history and enjoy the more than 200 shops, restaurants, galleries and Museums.

The Old Town Hotel exemplifies “Albuquerque Style,” a unique blend of New Mexico’s Native American, Mexican, Spanish and Western cultural influences and was listed in the April 2001 issue of Travel + Leisure as one of “25 Stylish Hotels under $200.”

Recently renovated, this 188-room full-service hotel features hand-carved, wooden corbels in the Grand Sala lobby area, territorial-style windows, hand-forged iron chandeliers, historic photographs, hand-plastered arches, outdoor portals, and custom-designed Navajo rug carpets. A 19th century-style New Mexican chapel, Victorian-era outdoor pavilion, Spanish garden lawn courts, fountain plaza, grand pool area and stylish new Q-Bar make this hotel the premier hotel in Albuquerque.

Q Bar – This new 5000 square foot multi-venue bar has quickly become Albuquerque’s most sophisticated and ultra-chic hot spot! Containing a piano lounge, wine, media and billiards rooms, the bar provides a series of intimate spaces for conversation and a variety of entertainment options. Light jazz, piano, and guitar provide the bar with fabulous live entertainment Thursday’s through Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Open daily at 4:00 PM. Available for private parties.

Cristobal’s - This fine-dining establishment is located within the Hotel Albuquerque. A Spanish Chop House, Cristobal's is open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for dinner only, featuring Spanish Tapas and entrees with New Mexican flair. An assortment of paellas, Prime aged steaks, fresh seafood are featured at this Spanish upscale restaurant. Catering and large party accommodations are available.

Café Plazuela & Cantina - Set in a festive but casual atmosphere, diners will be sure to enjoy the New Mexican cuisine featuring enchiladas, burritos, chile cheese burgers, sandwiches and specialty salads. After hours, enjoy the Café Plazuela Cantina featuring delicious tapas and signature drinks including Sangria Margarita, New World Sangria, Spanish and Amadora Martinis and Cristobal’s Margarita. Relax and listen to the sounds of romantic, popular, and nuevo flamenco from Hector Pimentel, New Mexico’s finest classical guitarist. Hector performs at Café Plazuela and Cantina on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Meetings & Conventions

Alvarado Ballroom - A wonderful blend of Native American, Mexican, Spanish and Western cultural traditions create a beautiful setting for your next meeting. The 14,000 square-foot Alvarado Ballroom is New Mexico’s largest ballroom. With beautiful handcrafted stamped tin chandeliers and carpeting that artfully resembles a Navajo rug, this magnificent ballroom sets the backdrop for your special event. Large sweeping exhibit areas that feature butter-colored hand-plastered walls and historic photographs surround the ballroom.

Franciscan Ballroom – Recently renovated this 3850 square foot ballroom is reminiscent of the prestige and glamour of the Pueblo Deco period popular in the southwest in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The ballroom features an elaborate Native American inspired geometric layered ceiling and wainscoting painted in various shades of cream, ivory and white. A custom designed Two Gray Hills patterned carpet is designed in shades of gray, brown, cream and black. Hand-forged thunderbird wall sconces and large scaled wooden chandeliers with mica glass, as well as large multi-paned windows provide a gorgeous, country club feel for any event.

Fireplace Room – Wood planked floors, ceiling vigas and lattias, multi-paned windows, a fabulous fireplace, Indian rugs and pottery provide an elegant yet cozy atmosphere for smaller meetings and receptions. The Fireplace room offers direct access to spacious outdoor portals for casual or formal indoor/outdoor parties and events.

Pavilion & Gardens – Designed to provide Albuquerque with elaborate outdoor function space for parties between 10 to 2000 people, these new outdoor spaces include portals, fountains, arbors, lawn courts and Spanish gardens. A beautiful Victorian style pavilion and rose arbor with climbing trumpet vine, wisteria and roses provide an unparalleled outdoor setting for weddings, receptions and other outdoor events.

Chapel – Absolutely breathtaking in it’s elegant simplicity, the Chapel at the Hotel Albuquerque is designed as an authentic early 19th century chapel and seats 156 people. This non-denominational chapel features a dramatic vaulted beamed wooden ceiling, massive walls, deep-set windows, wooden chandeliers, hand plastered finishes and an intricate carved and plastered sanctuary space. A spiral staircase leading to a choir loft is perfect for musicians, mariachis, and photographers. A classically understated Groom’s room is included and a luxurious bride’s dressing room provides a private dressing area for the entire wedding party. Outside the chapel is a small, private courtyard paved with flagstone and thyme for striking photographic opportunities.
